Yoga breathing Sun and Moon

 

  1. Put your thumb on your right nostril and inhale through the left nostril for a count of 4 and hold your breath for a count of 6.
  2. Reversed, and close the left nostril with the thumb closing, and now exhale for a count of 4 through the right nostril slowly and not forced, mild.
  3. Still keep the left nostril closed with your thumb, and inhale through the right nostril counting to 4 and trattanete breath for a count of 6.
  4. Now close your right nostril with the thumb and exhale through the left nostril for a count of 4.
  5. Keeping your thumb on right nostril, inhale through the left nostril for a count of 4, hold your breath for 6 seconds, reverse and close the left nostril with your thumb and exhale through the right nostril counting to 4.

In summary

  • Inhale on the left
  • Hold your breath
  • Exhale to the right
  • Inhale to the right
  • Hold your breath
  • Exhale left

This is a repeat.

You can do 4 reps (for those new) to average 8 to 10 repetitions, you will arrive in time to also do 20 reps (for those with expertise) and to over 40 reps for advanced users.
For more advanced practitioners, the time may vary for example by counting up to 2 breathing, up to 8 bated breath, and exhale to 4, but shall not vary throughout the meditation.
