Symbols Celtic Book of Kells
Supreme masterpiece of the Celtic world the "Book of Kells" (800 AD) contains thumbnails of the symbolism very complex and there are the emblems of the four Christian evangelists that recur throughout the manuscript.
A interval of these figures, however, distinguish unmistakably Celtic motifs: the rose, the symbol of the Sun, the spiral, the node and the plot, as well as a multitude of symbolic animals such as fish, cats, mice, roosters, snakes, dragons and birds.
