Celts: THE SACRED SITE OF TARA
The real and consecrated hill of Tara in County Meath, played a great symbolic power among the Celts of Ireland, from the late Neolithic to the Christian era: fortified during the Iron Age, was the political seat of Irish kings.
The site is characterized by the two ring forts joined together, one of which houses the legendary Lia Fail, or Stone of Destiny, who was said to issue a cry when touched by the rightful heir to the throne.
