The Ankh Cross
The original meaning of the Ankh cross remains a mystery: someone reads in its sexual connotations, others see a string of sandalwood; emblem of vital energy, fruitful appeal to the attributes of air and water, the ankh was a gift of the gods the sovereign.
Seems generally depicted in the hands of a deity or the animal to her associate, was by far one of the most powerful Egyptian amulets and retained its influence throughout the history of ancient Egypt so as to leave traces in Christian iconography during the Coptic era.
The ankh was used mostly as an amulet, capable of bringing health, wealth and fortune.
